Pastor Jim Beattie and his wife Sonia lead Yakima Bethel. He grew up in Chelan, WA and she grew up in Carson, WA. They met while they were attending Eugene Bible College in Eugene, OR. They have one daughter and two sons. Their daughter, Kristian, is married to her husband Daniel Newman. Kristian is a Registered Nurse and works in different hospital emergency departments, Daniel is a lawyer and they have one daughter, Karter Rae. They have been married 2 years. Their son, Connor, is married to Cassie. They met in our Bethel youth group. Connor just completed 5 years of service in the US Navy and Cassie works in a local behavioral health clinic as an administrator. They recently moved back to Yakima and have been married 4 years. Jim & Sonia's youngest son, Alex, finished high school in the spring of 2022. He has autism and epilepsy. Because of his special needs, Alex lives with Pastor Jim & Sonia full time. Sonia enjoys crafting and runs her own online crafting business. Pastor Jim is also a volunteer fire fighter, EMT, chaplain and an avid Oregon Ducks Fan! Together they enjoy vacations with family and home remodeling. Jim & Sonia celebrate 30 years of marriage in 2023!
